RE: West Hawaii Civic Center- In Support Of.
Council Members in East Hawaii have been declaring that the
We,-.t Hawaii Civic Center is a "luxury".
Let nee enunfterate the hazards of the present facility at
75-5706 Kuakini Hwy. Suite 109 Kailua-Kona at Hanama :Place.
1. Tesoro Gas Express is approximately 80 feet from the front
of the office- makai side.
A. There are no exits on the Mauka side of the offices.
B. Quick exit would be jumping from the second storybalcony
C. rhere is NO KAY to Exit via automobile.
TT. Larking is under the building by assignment.
A. HomeleSS use t is area for sleeping & as a toilet.

gravel area wh re. thehomaless also break their wine
bottles & use lars as outhouses.
C. The homolcss m n also are a threat to female workersL4/40
may work overt me.
D. The homeless p oblem could be solved by once-way tickets
back tto Oregon-since thats how some got here-but4 that's
another probleT.
III. Present building s in an inundation area-
A. Conjestad area 'would not allow escape by car.
B. Limited exits ould also be a great factor of congestion.
IV. Other environment ~l factors inside present building:
A. Moldtl Hiialth D?pt. notified, but no action yet.
H. Verm4n (rats) }n ceiling--removed?
C. Air conditionipg-faulty-repaired. by tape-foul odor.
D. All of the abo~e noted by workers, & reported with
few results.
V. To conclude, The 'lest Hawaii Civic Center would be a
safe haven for County workers & the public.
It would provide a clean building with fearer
hazards.
