Subject: Public Hearing
I was unable to attend the six p. m. public hearing at the Pahoa Community Center Thursday because I
am terminally ill.
I am opposed to allocating $18 million for the West Hawaii Center. That project is much too expensive,
there is no need for it, and there are many more projects desperately needed. One of which is the non
profit public health clinic Dr. Dan is attempting to start in the Malama Shopping Center in Pahoa.
I know Dr. Dan and have been treated by him for several years. Not only is he a fine medical person, he
is also an honorable gentleman. His clinic is needed because the Pahoa Family Health Center does not
have the capacity to meet the demand for medical treatment.
Please consider funding this non profit public clinic which is badly needed instead of spending so much
money for a west Hawaii Civic Center, which is not needed (it is entirely too expensive).
