I don't know what you mean by extravagant. If you are interested at all in costs for any kind of building, why don't you investigate some of the procurement contracts the county has let and what the accountability is for constructing the stalled expansion of Queen Kahumana Hwy in Kona? If the guys sleeping in the heavy construction equipment are getting paid to sleep, the Council needs to sit up and pay notice. Maybe Council Member Ford, could explain. West Hawaii needs a central location for its governmental needs. West Hawaii needs a public auditorium. Yes, Puna is way under served, but pitting one area against another is bad politics. What specific projects does Council Member Naole have in mind? Gnrmn. Nm 116800 41' Ref. To: kK k7, Ref. Dote 6/16/2008
