Subject: We support the proposed Energy Sustainability Department for the County of Hawaii
Aloha Pete:
Both Karin and I support the county's efforts in considering a the bill that would
establish a cabinet level Energy Sustainability Department with 3 full-time staff people.
It is time that the Island of Hawaii establish itself as leaders in energy and agricultural
sustainability.
I hope that you and others members will do something about all of the new (and
old) "street lights" that waste so much power and fossil fuels). Look at the new high
highway going in and out of Kona an the 100+ new street lights that have recently been
put in, what a waste of tax payers monies and for what reason?
