Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 1213, regarding Resolution 640-08, reports as follows:
Resolution 640-08, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase via
Communication No. 1213, dated April 25, 2008, Accepting the Dedication of Lots 8-13, B, and
C, being Portions of Tax Map Keys: (3)2-2-034:067 and 104, Situate at Waiakea, District of
South Hilo, County and State of Hawaii, from Trustees Allan K. Ikawa and Irma K. Ikawa.
Trustees Allan K. Izawa and Irma K. Izawa is desirous of dedicating the subject lots, including
all improvements as required by Ordinance No. 97-92, Section G, to the County of Hawaii.
Article XIII, § 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts
which include the dedication of land on behalf of the County of Hawaii.
There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed acceptance.
Corporation Counsel Ivan Torigoe appeared before your committee. Mr. Torigoe confirmed the
roadway including all improvements are in full compliance with Hawaii County Code.

Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 640-08, and recommends its adoption.
