Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 275, reports as follows:
Bill No. 275, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1118, dated
March 24, 2008, amends Ordinance No. 07-82, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending
June 30, 2008. The amendment is as follows:

010.271.5271.51 Violence Against Women General $26,902
The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has been awarded $101,902 from two separate federal grant
sources from the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, to be used for its Domestic
Violence and Sexual Assault Prosecution Project. This project is already included in the current
fiscal year's budget, under the Violence Against Women account, but with an appropriation of only
$75,000. Thus, the appropriation needs to be increased by $26,902.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 275, and
recommends it pass first reading.
