Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 1139, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 1139, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated March 31, 2008, nominates
Judy Ah chin of District 1 to the County of Hawaii Pension Board.
A life-long resident of Hawaii, Ms. Ah Chin retired from the County of Hawaii Department of
Public Works Building, Division, as a Building Permit Supervisor in December 2006. She is
currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Island Adult Day Care, Inc. She
states that she is a registered Democrat.
Pursuant of Article XIV, Section 14-5, Hawaii county Charter, there shall be a Board of Ethics,
consisting of five members who shall be residents of the County, appointed by the Mayor with
the approval of the Council.
The Committee agreed that Ms. Ah Chin does not have to appear before the full Council for final
confirmation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Judy Ah Chin to the County
of Hawaii Pension Board, to serve a term ending December 31, 2012.
