Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 677-08, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 677-08, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 1274, dated June 2, 2008, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one fiscal year for a multi-year lease of real property for a vehicular turnaround area in
Kainaliu, North Kona, Tax Map Key: (3) 7-9-009:018 (portion) from the Kadooka Family, for a
five-year lease agreement for the use of a portion containing approximately 2,480 square feet, to
allow the construction of a vehicle turnaround area, to be partially within the existing road right-
of-way and partially within the requested leased area of Kadooka's property.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 677-08,
and recommends its adoption.
