RESOLUTION NO. ~ ~ ~ ~ 8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the "16~' Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt" will take place on Friday,
April 10, 2009, at the Dr. Francis Wong Stadium; and
WHEREAS, children from the entire Island will be able to participate in the Biggest
Easter Egg Hunt; and
WHEREAS, the program will consist of picture taking with the Easter Bunny, face
painting, art and craft projects, ice cream and milk drinking contests, and the Biggest Easter
Egg Hunt, which will include 15,000 egg prizes and candy filled plastic eggs; and
WHEREAS, the sponsors for this event include the County of Hawaii, Meadow Gold
Dairies Inc., Hilo Jaycees, Hilo High School Key Club and others local business; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division has also
requested funds to host the Hilo Halloween program on October 31, 2008 at the Ho`olulu
Hamakua Butler Builder; and
WHEREAS, youngsters will have a safe place to go on Halloween, featuring carnival
games, contests, keiki ID, picture taking, face painting, and trick or treat goodie bags will be
provided; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated
to the Department of Parks & Recreation to be used towards the "16~' Annual Biggest Easter
Egg Hunt" and Halloween programs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated asset forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
