RE: Resolution 639-08, Draft 2
Attached is a Draft 2 of Resolution 639-08 which incorporates amendments made
by the Council at the July 2, 2008 Council Meeting as follows:
1) An additional point which reads, "6. Provide a liaison to the County of Hawaii
to facilitate communication between the United States Military and the County of
Hawaii" was added to the plan listed in the six whereas clause;
2) An additional point which reads, "7. Provide semi-annual reports to the
Hawaii County Council summarizing depleted uranium monitoring, detection, and
mitigation efforts" was added to the plan listed in the six whereas clause;
3) An additional point which reads, "8. The U.S. Military shall conduct a search
of all records for firing of Depleted Uranium at the Pohakuloa Training Area and all
other Hawaii State military sites and release pertinent information to the public" was
added to the plan listed in the six whereas clause;
4) References to the original "five-point" plan have been changed to "eight-point"
plan; and
5) Stylistic changes were made to the grammatical form of the verbs listed in the
plan found in the six whereas clause.
