Aloha Council members,
Well I've sent you hundreds of emails and articles in the past couple of years, so you already know how
concerned and outraged I am on the issue of radiological contamination of our county and state, and
military toxins, in general.
At the risk of simplifying this very complex issue, I just want to make these three points crystal clear.
#1. there is NO question, uranium radiation is deadly, from start to finish. From the mining, to the
milling, to the manufacturing, to the end use, to the clean up; NO way around it. The people telling you
otherwise are either stupid, uninformed, or lying to you. Read the thousands of reliable, expert studies,
look up all of the class action lawsuits popping up in every stage of its use. The use of uranium is killing
people everywhere; it is poisoning our planet.
#2. The military has a long history of not telling the truth. There are TONS of MILITARY
documentation years after the fact, of using U.S. citizens and other humans as Guinea pigs; intentional
chemical, biological, and radiological experiments on civilian and military populations. This is fact, not
fantasy, look it up, you'll be horrified. Ask our local Marshallese who can never go home again, Ever.
Ask our damaged veterans, ask the Vietnamese and the Iraqi's. You may think, oh, that's old news, they
did all of that stuff in the 40's and 50's... but you would be wrong; nothing has changed in this culture of
secrecy except more futuristic and lethal experimentation. I for one, deeply resent the idea that my
community may be being used as the proverbial canary in the coal mine and having to pay for it, too.
Military regulations say 'they' are responsible for any clean up or harm they have caused, but they most
certainly are not responsible, as witnessed by their admission of nearly 1000 contaminated sites in
Hawaii which they are doing very little to clean up.
The name of their game is stall, confuse, belittle, and delay.
#3. Bottom line; residents want to know the whole truth about what is happening at Pohakuloa. How
many nuclear weapons systems have been used, how many acres are contaminated. Residents don't trust
the fox guarding the hen house to give us any real answers. Residents have a right to know if we are in
danger. You folks are the only defenders that residents can count on to begin to get us the answers. Our
senators, most of our legislature, and governor are deaf and dumb to our reasonable questions. Residents
are counting on you folks, our ohana, to help us get the truth.
Please pass this resolution, with no amendments, except one . ...that would call for the testing of a few
of us downwind humans.

In the Navajo creation story, the people were warned
not to touch a yellow substance called "cledge",
to leave it in the ground. "cledge", now known to be
uranium, was from the underworld. The Navajo
people had a choice, yellow cledge or yellow corn
pollen. The yellow corn pollen posses the positive
elements of life, if cledge were to be released from
the ground it would bring forth the serpent. The serpent
would bring into the world evil, death, and destruction.
Maybe those old Navajo's knew what they were talking about.........
