Dear Barb.
FIMFP,Add._1llIS (~(t r for tectfmnntz at the County ouneil meeting
c-)n Fridav, June 19, 19981 attended the Planning Con'inuss'ion Meeting for the
sole purpose ofgiving testhnotm on the application of Star lllarkets and TT'indivard
F_-nterprises fot' sub-division in Kaloko. Prior to this meeting the Kaloko residents met
wah Alr•. Fa,rtatne to at Norm meson's home. The purpose of our meeting with Mr.
Yamamoto was our concern over their recluc>st for° three acre parcels. As a result of our
meeting svit,'a.41r. Yamamoto, the owners ty'the Star Market and Windward property
agreed to the following: That the minimum lot sire at the lower elevations to be no less
than 5 acres'o that the native, forest which covers this property could be dedicated to
Ernest dcsig, ratlon tivith the (,otrrtty tali oljice cnzd cozild be included in the State Forest
17ewardsbap Program. The mgjorit , of the Foloko eommunitti' fi els that anv subdividing
MUST' cons W67protection of the native attitnal artd plant species' and consider that
Kaloko is port ofthe cloud, forest aruJ watereh d area.
TV(- also feel that the same mcasures proposed fdr ten acre parcels should be
considered for the, f ve acre parcels. That rs: 100 foot set back froin existing roads, 100
f )*)t structzr-ul setback along existing roads, ~0 foot forest reserve easements along ALL
lot lines, and at LEAST 80130 of the parcel an RL 1 LAIN in forest. .Norm Besona, Allan
Recd and L1yself sr ent on record for the purpose of the County Ce» xnctl having this
nzfnr•nrulion in the ntiruues. Also, nn the lower pltce of fzroperry there is ara additional 60'
setback alazg the curb making that area 160' of set back. This was agreed to by
;1 fr. Y'un'ratmrto. Since that meeting 1 have heard a rumor that there is talk of expanding
iha roads from this subdivision to the adj tc E°Pt property fi)r cuaother sub-ciivisior'a. This l
w,?uld be rrppased to because of dhe road arrcl traffic amdilions that Kulakr~ would face.
