Re: Operating Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to appropriate $3,750 which the County
of Hawaii has received from the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and
Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife, for the planting of 50
Rainbow Shower trees for the Kam Ave Corridor Landscaping project.

A. REQUEST:
To be able to accept additional revenue of $3,750.00of State Grant Funds from the
KAULUNANI URBAN FORESTRY GRANT. Account no. 3305.07
Appropriate and create accounts to expend grant funds as follows:
Parks Maintenance - Kam Ave Corridor Landscpng - $3,750. 00
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
A grant agreement was entered into on July 20, 1998 by and between the Hawaii
Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife, and the
County of Hawaii.
Grant 98-14: KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE CORRIDOR LANDSCAPING, $3,750.00
Awarded by the Kaulunani Council to receive funds from the Kaulunani, Hawaii The
Beautiful Urban Forestry Grant.
A copy of the grant agreement and letter are attached for information purposes.
Council action is necessary to accept and appropriate funds to administer the program
per the agreement.
