Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Sophie T. Keller
of Council District 5 to the Hawaii County Transportation
Commission.
Ms. Keller is a 5-year resident of Hawaii and is a registered
nurse. Since 1994 she has been working as a private
practitioner in acupuncture.
She is a foster parent under the auspices of the Child
Protective Services, and is a volunteer with several community
groups working with the elderly and the disabled. Ms. Keller
reports that she is not a member of any political party.
If appointed, Ms. Keller will represent Council District 5, a
seat that has been vacant since the resignation of Lee Robbins,
and she will serve the balance of the unexpired term, which
will end on December 31, 1999.
