Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 392
and attached Bill No. 113, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 113 is to authorize the placement of traffic signal systems at the
intersection of Komohana Street and Mohouli Street and at the intersection of Kaumana Drive
and Ainako Avenue.
Bill No. 1 13 would amend chapter 24, article ]Q division 2, section 24-274.1, schedule 22.1
(Traffic signal systems), subsection (c) South Hilo, by adding the following to be appropriately
numbered:
Komohana Street/Mohouli Street.
Kaumana Drive/Ainako Avenue."
Communication No. 392 is a letter from Chief Engineer Donna Fay K Kiyosaki, dated
July 3, 1997, which transmits Bill No. 113 to the County Council for its consideration.
Your Committee amended Bill No. 113 by substituting Bill No. 113, Draft 2. Draft 2 amended
the bill to indicate that it was amending division 2 rather than division ] of chapter 24,
article 10. (See Communication No. 392.01, transmitting Draft 2 to the County
Council from the Corporation Counsel's Office.)
No testimony in opposition to this bill was offered.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 113, Draft 2 and
recommends that it pass first reading.
