Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 633
and Resolution No. 202, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 202 is to authorize the County, pursuant to Section 23-10 of the
Hawaii County Code and Article XIII, Section 3-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, to accept a
dedication deed transmitting real property for road and drainage purposes from the Housing
Finance and Development Corporation (HFDC), a public body and a body corporate and politic
of the State of Hawaii. HFDC is the developer of the Villages of La'i'opua, Phase I. The
dedication deed is for roadway lots within the Villages of La'i'opua, Phase I, identified as Tax
Map Key (3) 7-4-20 and 21 (portions).
Communication No. 633 is a letter from Gerald Takase, Deputy Corporation Counsel, dated
December 8, 1997, which transmits Resolution No. 202 to the County Council for its review and
consideration. It also states that the deed has been reviewed by the Department of Public Works,
Department of Water Supply and the Planning Department, and all have recommended
acceptance of the dedication deed. All subdivision improvements have been completed.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 202, and
recommends its adoption.
