Comm. 143: APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS - WILLIAM F GREEN
From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated
February 7, 1997, submitting for confirmation the
following appointment to the Hawaii County Board of
Appeals:
Mr. William F. Green, a lifetime resident of
Hawaii who, since 1991, has been the
Owner/President of the PCI Chemical
Corporation. He is a Democrat.
If confirmed, Mr. Green will replace
Mildred C. Mosher, who resigned on
January 21, 1997 (to serve as a member of
the Hawaii County Planning Commission), and
will serve a term to end on
December 31, 1997.
Comm. 153: APPOINTMENT TO THE WATER COMMISSION - YUKIO TAKEYA
From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated
February 12, 1997, submitting for confirmation the
following appointment to the Hawaii County Water
Commission:
Mr. Yukio Takeya, a lifetime resident of
Hawaii who, since 1971, has been the
President and Principal Broker of Ala Kai
Realty, Inc. He is a member of the
Democratic Party.
If confirmed, Mr. Takeya will replace
Glenn A. Santos, whose term eapired on
December 31, 1996, and will serve a term to
end on December 31, 2001.

Comm. 164: APPOINTMENTS TO THE KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN
COMMISSION (3): VONNIE LYONS, LLOYD S. NAKANO, &
GARRETT WEBB
From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated
February 19, 1997, submitting for confirmation the
following appointments to the Kailua Village Design
Commission:
(1) Ms. Vonnie Lyons, a 43-year resident of
Hawaii, who from 1975-1994, was employed by
the Kamehameha Investment Corporation as the
Managing Director of the Keauhou Visitors
Association.
If confirmed, Ms. Lyons will replace
Fanny Au Hoy whose term ezpired on
December 31, 1996, and will serve a term to
end on December 31, 1999.
(2) Mr. Lloyd S. Nakano, a 36-year resident of
Hawaii who, since 1996, has been the General
Manager of the King Kamehameha Kona Beach
Hotel.
If confirmed, Mr. Nakano will replace
Gregory G. Ogin, whose term ezpired on
December 31, 1996, and will serve a term to
end on December 31, 1999.
(3) Mr. Garrett Webb, a 19-year resident of
Hawaii who, since 1987, has been a
self-employed landscaper DBA Kalaoa Gardens.
If confirmed, Mr. Webb will replace
J. Curtis Tyler, whose position became
vacant on December 2, 1996, and will serve a
term to end on December 31, 1999.

The Planning Committee meeting can be seen on Thursday, March 13 at
6:30 p.m. All Committee meetings can be seen on Sunday, March 16,
at 9:00 a.m.
Channel 12 (Kona) - All Committee meetings can be seen on Friday,
March 7 at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, March 9 at 9 a.m. The Public Works
& Parks Committee and the Finance Committee will be shown on
