Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 674,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 674, transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, is a letter dated
January 13, 1998, submitting for confinnation, the following appointments to the Hawaii County
Veterans Advisory Committee: reappointment of Toribio Francisco, representing the Disabled
American Veterans Group (DAV); reappointment of Denise S. Nakanishi, representing the
Hawaii Island Women Veterans Association (HIWVA); reappointment of Robert W. Pettit,
representing the Big Island Retired Military Association (BIRMA); and appointment of Robert
L. Montague, representing the newly created organization titled the Hawaii Island Veterans
Memorial, Inc. These nominees were recommended by their respective organizations, and will
serve terms ending December 31, 2002.
Your Committee recommends the approval of the appointments to the Hawaii County Veterans
Advisory Committee.
