Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 754,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 754 is from Robert P. (Phil) Henderson, Owner of Bears Coffee, dated
Mazch 5, 1998, transmitting an application for the renewal of the sidewalk use permit for cafe
table service on the sidewalk adjacent to the shop. Mr. Henderson informs that the covered
sidewalk is 10 feet wide and the cafe tables and chairs take up 5 feet of space allowing ample
room for pedestrian traffic. He also submits a current letter of consent from Brian R. Thomas,
agent for the owner of the building; Certificate of Insurance for both the County and the Owner;
and a copy of the indemnity clause used last year which Mr. Henderson would be happy to sign
again.
No testimony in opposition to this Communication was offered.
Your Committee recommends approval of this sidewalk use permit for Bears Coffee to be in
effect for one year from the date of Council approval.
