Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was refen•ed Communication No. 843,
and attached Bill No. 247, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 247 is to amend Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 3, Section 24-275,
Schedule 23 (Bus stop locations) Subsection (c), and Section 25-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at
anytime), Subsection (c), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 Edition), relating to Vehicles and
Traffic.
Communication No. 843 is from Chief Engineer Donna Fay K. Kiyosaki, dated April 30, 1997,
which transmits a bill to install two-way left tum lanes along Kilauea Avenue between Aupuni Street
and Kukuau Street. Ms. Kiyosaki states that to implement this project, parking on portions of both
sides of the roadway will be removed to accommodate the new design.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 247, and recommends that it
pass first reading.
