Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 961,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 961 is transmitted by Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated August 28, 1998,
nominating Derrick S. Ah Sing of Pahoa to the Hawaii County Verterans Advisory Committee.
Mr. Ah Sing is being recommended to represent the local chapter of the Disabled American V eterans
(DAV).
Mr. Ah Sing is a disabled veteran who retired from the United States Navy. Mr. Ah Sing will serve
the balance of the unexpired term which will end on December 31, 2000. Mr. Ah Sing will be
replacing Mr. Toribio Francisco of Hamakua, who has resigned.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks recommends the approval of the nomination of
Derrick S. Ah Sing to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory Committee.
