Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 1018,
and attached Resolution No. 337-98, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 337-98 is to authorize a grant of a water line easement at Kaapoko
Homesteads, South Hilo, Hawaii, Island, County and State of Hawaii, Tax Map Key No. (3) 2-7-OS
to Martin Ganigan, Jr. and Linda Ganigan; Miles K. Nagata and Lynne J. Nagata; Dorothy D. Patao,
and James R. Kennedy and Linda C. Kennedy.
Communication No. 1018 is from Harry A. Takahashi, Director of Finance; dated September 29,
1998, which submits Resolution No. 337-98 authorizing a grant of waterline easement over
government homestead road to Martin Ganigan Jr. and Linda Ganigan; Miles K. Nagata and Lynne
J. Nagata, Dorothy D. Patao, and James R. Kennedy and Linda C. Kennedy. Mr. Takahashi also
states that an independent appraiser has determined the fair mazket value of the waterline easement
with an area of 6,081 square feet to be $1,700.00.
Council Member Curtis Tyler suggested a friendly amendment to correct minor grammatical
errors in Resolution No. 337-98. However, no formal amendment was made at the Committee
meeting. Therefore, a Draft 2 with said amendments will be sent to the Council for consideration
along with Resolution No. 227-98.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 337-98, and
recommends its adoption.
