Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 79,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 79, dated December 23, 1996, is an application from Robert P. Henderson
to renew a sidewalk use permit for his restaurant, Beazs Coffee. The permit requested would
allow Bears Coffee to continue cafe table service on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant
located at 106 Keawe Street.
Communication No. 79 was discussed at the January 21, 1997 meeting of the Committee on
Public Works and Parks. Your Committee noted that a signed document from the applicant
confirming indemnification for the County of Hawaii would be appropriate in granting this
permit request. Mr. Henderson will submit this affidavit in time for the February 7, 1997,
Council meeting.
No testimony in opposition to this Communication was offered.
Your Committee recommends approval of this sidewalk use permit for Beazs Coffee to be in
effect for one year from the date of Council approval.
