Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 99,
reports as follows:
Communication No. 99 is a letter from Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro dated January 14, 1997,
which appoints George Yoshida to the position of Director of the Depaztment of Pazks and
Recreation for the County o1' Hawaii. Pursuant to Article VI, Chapter 3, Section 6-3.2, of the
County of Hawaii's County Charter 1991, the Director of the Department of Pazks and
Recreation shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council of the County of
Hawaii.
Members of Your Committee commended Mr. Yoshida on thejob he has done as Parks and
Recreation Director during the last four years and thanked him for his assistance.
Your Committee finds George Yoshida to be qualified to serve as Director of the Department of
Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii and recommends that his appointment be
confirmed.
