NO. 206 PLACE: Councilroom TIME: 9:04 a.m. Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 206 and attached Bill No. 61, reports as follows: The purpose of Bill No. 61 is to amend chapter 24, article l0, division 2, section 24-266, schedule 14 (Through Streets), subsection (c), items (7) and (76) to indicate the presence of four-way stops in through streets, Baker Avenue and Pua Avenue. Communication No. 206 is a letter from Donna Fay K. Kiyosaki, Chief Engineer, dated March 12, 1997, which transmits Bill No. 61 to the County Council for its consideration. In Communication No. 206, Ms. Kiyosaki states that four-way stops have been installed at the intersections of Baker Avenue -Desha Avenue and Pua Avenue -Desha Avenue. Consequently, the Chief Engineer requests that section 24-266, which presently provides that these streets are through streets, should be amended to reflect this change. No testimony in opposition to this bill was offered. Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 61 and recommends that it pass first reading.
