Re: Electronic Kiosk Demonstration
Dear Councilman Ray:
Over the past few months I have been working with a company (Touch Media - High
Technology Solutions- HTS) on the technology of providing kiosk services to the public
on a number of services. Originally, the idea was to provide NILS access to the public of
real estate information. In working with HTS, I learned that they provide kiosk
technology and software to cities and states on an array of services. Attached is a short
list of kiosk services that could be provided by the County to the public. Kiosk located at
strategic locations will allow the public to transact business with the County without
having to travel to government offices.
On August 27, the program and concept was demonstrated to the various departments of
the County. The program was well received and we are planning additional meetings
with the Finance Department and Data Processing.
With your consent, we would like to demonstrate to concept to the Economic
Development Committee on October 20, which we understand is the date of next
meeting. The demonstration should take about a hour including some time for questions
and answers.
