SUBJECT: RESOLUTION TO AMEND SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 98-51
Enclosed for Council action is a resolution to amend Salary Ordinance No. 98-51,
Section 8.02(c) Mass Transportation Agency, Office of the Mayor. The resolution
deletes Section 8.02(c) and renumbers the subsequent items in Section 8.02 Office of
the Mayor.
Section 76-77(1), Hawaii Revised Statutes, relating to civil service and exemptions,
provides that positions in the Office of the Mayor are exempt from civil service, but
that these positions shall be included in the position classification plan. Thus, pursuant
to Section 76-77(1), HRS, classification action was taken to reallocate and to classify
position no. M0001, Mass Transit Assistant, SR-20, to position no. 4125, County
Transportation Specialist, SR-22.
