RESOLUTION NO. 304 10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A SIX FOOT BENCH
FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WHEREAS, Mr. Jim Silver is donating a six foot bench to the Department of Parks and Recreation
and it is to be installed at Lili'uokalani Park; and
WHEREAS, this bench, constructed of recycled plastic, has an estimated total value of $1,604;
and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this generous donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Jim Silver, c/o Silver
Family Bench, 3789 Woodbark Court, San Jose, California 95117, acknowledging this donation.
