"Julie" Tulang as Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii. Ms. Tulang has ably provided the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the County of Hawaii with 24 years of service. The past six years were as Deputy Director of that Department. Ms. Tulang was the key program director that launched the Hawaii County Nutrition Program for the elderly and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics and a Masters degree in Education from Linfield College in Oregon. It is my wish that Ms. Tulang succeeds George Yoshida who retires as Director on October 16, 1998. I ask for your favorable consideration and approval of this appointment. "Julie" Tulang Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regards to the Appointment of Juliette M. Tulang as Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii, waiving said appointment from the Committee on Public Works & Parks in order that appropriate action be taken by the Council.
