SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAHAKAI ROAD: One-way Traffic Pattern
We received a request to change the traffic pattern along Kahakai Road in Kona to one-way in the
southerly direction.
Kahakai Road is narrow and accommodates a variety of vehicles to include busses, commercial/service
vehicles and local residents. The one-way pattern will improve overall traffic safety for motorists and
pedestrians along Kahakai Road and will eliminate vehicle conflicts occurring at the intersection of
Kahakai Road and Alii Drive. A location map is attached.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
