Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 1293, regarding Resolution 684-08, reports as follows:
Resolution 684-08, transmitted by Council Member Brenda J. Ford, via Communication
No. 1293, dated June 17, 2008 directing the clerk of the County of Hawaii to take the necessary
action to place the Charter Amendment proposed by Ordinance No. 08-81 on the 2008 General
Election Ballot (establishing an Independent Audit Function within the Legislative Branch).
There was no testimony from the public on this proposed resolution.
County Clerk Casey Jarman appeared before your committee to address any concerns related to
this proposed resolution.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution 684-08, and recommends its adoption.
