The Department of Transportation has increased the amount of the federal grant to fund the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH). The original amount of the grant was $12,000. REQUEST: To increase revenue in: 3301.90 Intergovernment Revenue, Federal Grants, Bicycle Education Program- $49,438 To increase appropriation in: 060-321-5321.03-115 Bikeway, Bike Education Pgm-Fed, Misc Contract Services- $49,438 This will allow the department to receive a Federal Grant through the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to fund the PATH Bicycle Education Program. B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): A grant agreement will be executed between the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation to fund the PATH Bicycle Education Program for $61,438. $12,000 was the original amount estimated and budgeted for the FY 1998-99. The additional $49,438 will allow the department to receive the total grant amount of $61,438. A letter of intent from the Department of Transportation is attached, and a contract will be formalized between Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH) and the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and Recreation for the Bicycle Education Program.
