COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />`~~.1 ~ ~ <br />RESOLUTION CREATING A CAREGIVER INFORMATION & ASSISTANCE <br />SPECIALIST POSITION AND A DATA PROCESSING CLERK POSITION FOR THE <br />HAWAII COUNTY OFFICE OF AGING <br />WHEREAS, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) will soon be opening up on <br />the Big Island; and <br />WHEREAS, this one-stop resource center will provide information and assistance services <br />to older adults and caregivers; and <br />WHEREAS, during the past few years, two Hawaii County of Aging (HCOA) contractual <br />positions, a Caregiver Information & Assistance Specialist and a Data Processing Clerk, were <br />funded with federal monies; and <br />WHEREAS, the Caregiver Information & Assistance Specialist position is needed to <br />coordinate a system of care to assist older adults and their caregivers manximize their quality of <br />life and to manage their health and activities of daily living with appropriate and efficient support <br />and to also provide much needed options counseling at the ADRC; and <br />WHEREAS, the Data Processing Clerk position is needed to assist with the changes to the <br />Office of Aging's data base coupled with new reporting requirements and procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, the creation of a Caregiver Information & Assistance Specialist, SR-22, position <br />and a Data Processing Clerk, SR-10, position is essential to the success and effectiveness of the <br />ADRC; and <br />WHEREAS, there will be monies available in the Office of Aging Regular Salaries and <br />Wages account, 010.411.5411.011, to fund these positions; and <br />
