NO. 89l / RIiSOLUTION NO. 28{i-98 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 891, and <br /> attached Resolution No. 286-98, reports as follows: <br /> The purpose of Resolution No. 286-98 is to authorize the abandonment and quitclaim of remnants at <br /> Puuanahulu Homesteads, North Kona, Hawaii, (Tax Map Key (3) 7-1-OS:Paper Roads) to the Big Island <br /> Country Club Estates Limited Partnership. <br /> Communication No. 891 is from Deputy Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase dated June 16, 1998, <br /> requesting the Council's review and consideration of the resolution authorizing the abandonment and <br /> quitclaim of remnants at Puuanahulu Homesteads, North Kona, to the Big Island Country Club Estates <br /> Limited Partnership. <br /> Mr. Takase states that a previous agreement had been reached with the State, which allowed the <br /> development of the golf course. However, the State has since reconsidered its position and now believes <br /> the County is the proper body to dispose of the property. <br /> Mr. Takase further claritied for Your Committee that Big Island Country Club had submitted <br /> payment in the sum of $34,500.00 to the State Department of Land and Natural Resources.
