RESOLUTION NO. ~~3 ~ ~~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,008.36
TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Discovery Harbour Volunteer Fire Fighters have donated $1,008.36 to the Hawaii Flre
Department, and
WHEREAS, the donated funds are earmarked for the purchase of a portable foam system, "Pro/pak",
and well be assigned to the Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`l that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this monetary donation
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. Larry
Kingsley, Acting Fire Chief, Discovery Harbour Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 993, Na`alehu, Hawaii
96772-0993, acknowledging this donation.
