CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS Comm. 1333: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 14-2(a) (Bill 327) AND CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-68.1, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE OLD KONA AIRPORT PARK (adds the Old Kona Airport Park to the parks and recreational facilities schedule, and adds picnic pavilions and events pavilion to the list of public places requiring permits for intoxicating liquor between specified hours) From Councilmember K. Angel Pilago, dated July 10, 2008, transmitting the above bill. Recommends passage of Bill 327 on first reading. Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island Hawai `i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer PSPRC-15 Page 2 August 12, 2008 Comm. 1347: A RESOLUTION TO REDEDICATE THE MONUMENT FOR ALEXANDER JOY (Res. 706-08) CARTWRIGHT, JR., THE FATHER OF MODERN DAY BASEBALL, AND THE PERSON WHO WAS INFLUENTIAL IN PROMOTING BASEBALL IN HILO AND THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS (rededicates the monument at the Francis Wong Stadium in celebration of "Cartwright Day") From Councilmember Stacy K. Higa, dated July 14, 2008, transmitting the above resolution. Recommends adoption of Res. 706-08 as amended to Draft 2. Ayes: Committee Members Ford, Higa, Hoffmann, Jacobson, Naeole, Pilago, Yagong, Yoshimoto and Chair Ikeda. Noes: None. Absent: None. Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes (hereinafter "HRS") § 92-3.5, the Hawaii County Council will be conducting this Committee meeting via videoconference. Councilmembers will be present at the following locations: County Councilroom - Ben Franklin Tower, 2"d Floor, 333 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720 Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa, 78-128 Ehukai Street, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. Videoconferencing is available at the following locations until 4:30 p.m., or later in the event public witness testimony has not been completed: • Hilo Councilroom at the Ben Franklin Building, Second Floor; and • Waimea Council Office at the Holomua Center. Videoconferencing from the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility will not be available. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more than a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated. Those submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring fifteen (15) copies for distribution.
