COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. '748 Q8 <br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 1-A-1, WHICH IS A <br />PORTION OF REAL PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP KEY: (3)7-7-004:089, <br />SITUATE IN THE DISTRICT OF NORTH KONA, COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII, <br />FOR THE KAHULUI-KEAUHOU PARKWAY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has planned and is ready to construct the <br />Kaltalui-Keauhou Parkway, from Kailua-Kona, in North Kona; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the tremendous growth that has occurred in North Kona, the <br />existing roadway network can no longer adequately serve existing and projected traffic volumes; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this new highway will provide an alternative route for traffic in the area, <br />thereby relieving the present traffic congestion from Ali`i Drive, Kuakini Highway, Mamalahoa <br />Highway, and the adjacent areas, and will better serve the region's future development and <br />project traffic demands; and <br />WHEREAS, the construction of the highway would entail the acquiring by the County of <br />Hawaii of additional land described in Exhibits "I," legal description, and " 2," parcel map, <br />attached hereto and made a part hereof, for 't-A-1 consisting of 3.017 acres, more or less, <br />together with any adjacent lands necessary for temporary construction purposes, including but <br />not limited to, temporary easements for construction and operations, storage and disposal areas; <br />and <br />
