Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 346, reports as follows:
Bill No. 346, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1383, dated
August 8, 2008, amends Ordinance No. 08-79, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2009, by
adding the following project:
PARKS & RECREATION:
Hazardous Materials Mitigation - Islandwide 110.599.5599.10 $1,000,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund - $1,000,000
Fund Balance and/or Other Sources
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget for that
year with a two-thirds vote.
Council Member Brenda Ford requested from Pam Mizuno of Parks & Recreation Department to provide
Council with a breakdown of funding as to how much has been encumbered; how much work has been
completed, and what projects are still pending for completion.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 346, and recommends it
pass first reading.
