A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funds for the
Halloween event to be held on October 31, 2008, at the Ho`olulu Complex, Butler Building;
and
WHEREAS, youngsters will have a safe place to go on Halloween where they can
receive trick-or-treat goodie bags and participate in carnival games, contests, keiki ID, picture
taking, face painting, haunted house, and the pumpkin patch; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will be working in partnership with the Hilo
Jaycees, Hilo High School Key Club, and Waiakea High School Key Club; and
WHEREAS, funds are also needed for the 16`h Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt,
which will take place on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Francis F.C. Wong Stadium; and
WHEREAS, this Easter event will consist of picture taking with the Easter Bunny,
face painting, arts and crafts projects, ice cream and milk drinking contests, balloon crafts,
keiki ID, and the Biggest Easter Egg Hunt, which will include 15,000 egg prizes and candy-
filled plastic eggs; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will be working in partnership with the Hilo
Jaycees, Hilo High School Key Club, Waiakea High School Key Club, and Meadow Gold
Dairies, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated
to the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used towards the Halloween event and the
16`h Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.500.5507.02 Department of Parks & Recreation $2,000

Hunt - $1,000; Halloween - $1,000)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
