RESOLUTION NO. '769 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii, in partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA)
Big Island, provides training for youth sports leaders, coaches, parents, and athletes in order to stop
the "win-at-all-cost" coaching model and making "honoring the game" the norm; and
WHEREAS, PCA Big Island is part of a national nonprofit organization that has created a
movement to transform the culture of youth sports so that every youth athlete can have a positive,
character-building experience; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii and PCA Big Island will hold numerous public
workshops throughout the Big Island to address the needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to hold at least two public workshops in Council
District 3; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.500.5507.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $2,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
