Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 182-97 transmitted by
Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro via Communication No. 572 dated November 4, 1997, reports as
follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 182-97 is to name a certain roadway within the Keahole Heights
Subdivision, Kalaoa 4th, Hawaii. This resolution names the following roadway in Exhibit "A" of
this resolution as "Nawahie Street," a surname.
Pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code, the Council is
authorized to adopt street names for Hawaii County's unnamed roadways.
The Planning Commission recommended favorable consideration for the naming of this
roadway.
Your Committee on Planning concurs with the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 182-97 and
recommends its adoption.
