[t is a product of the International Code Council - a membership association dedicated to <br />building safety and fire prevention that develops the codes used to construct residential and <br />commercial buildings, including homes and schools. <br />The Department of Public Works is part of a state-wide building code committee, which has been <br />working to ensure that this international code meets the specific needs of our State and its respective <br />counties. The IECC will ultimately will be made a part of the State Wide Building Code. <br />Article 2, division 15 of the current chapter 5 pertains to indigenous architecture. The attached bill <br />for an ordinance intends to retain those provisions by assigning division 15 as a new article 3 within <br />chapter 5. No text has been added or deleted to the current provisions of division 15, Indigenous <br />Architecture, as established by Ordinance No. 07-164.
