SUBJEC'T': TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
ROUTE 132, Adjust Speed Limit
Ref. Ord. 98-42
A 45 mile-per-hour speed limit was authorized along Route 132, Pohoiki Junction to Route 137 in May
1998. A location map is attached.
We have since received a request to raise the existing speed limit to 55 miles per hour. We have
consulted with the Puna Police Department, and they feel 55 miles per hour is reasonable and prudent for
this roadway under normal conditions.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment, Should you have any
