RE: Department of Public Works Roads in Limbo
To give the Councilmembers a perspective regarding the issue of roads in limbo, 1 have
invited Ms. Dawn Chang of the Attorney General's office in Oahu, to speak to the
County Council. The purpose of the meeting is to have the Attorney General interpret
Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 264-2 so that the Councilmembers may understand the
affect this law has on the County.
I will also invite Richard Wurdeman from our Corporation Counsel to give the County's
perspective of HRS 264-2. I would sincerely appreciate it if you could represent Public
Works, and give a perspective from the department's standpoint.
We will have this subject agendized on the November 5, 1998 Committee on Public
Works & Parks meeting which begins at 9:00 a.m..
