The meeting begins at 9:00 a.m., and I would like you to speak to the County Council. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an interpretation on Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 264, Section 264- 2 regarding the issue of roads in limbo. I spoke to Charlene Unoki of the DLNR Land Management Division, and she suggested that I invite you to this meeting. We are trying to educate the Councilmembers on the issue of roads in limbo, and the State's interpretation would greatly help the process. I have also invited Mr. Richard Wurdeman of our Corporation Counsel office to give the County's perspective of HRS 264-2 as well as Mr. Jiro Sumada, Deputy Chief Engineer of our Public Works Department to give the department's standpoint on the matter. Would you please contact staff member Lorraine Acdal at (808) 961-8491 to confirm your attendance. Thank you for your kind attention on this matter, and look forward to your response.
