A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the 501 (c) 3 organization, Theater Arts Conservatory, will be hosting a
production entitled, "Rent," for the Puna Community Medical Center (PCMC) in early 2009; and
WHEREAS, PCMC seeks to open a desperately needed urgent care clinic in the Malama
Marketplace; and
WHEREAS, PCMC needs to raise $100,000 before doors to the urgent care clinic can
open; and
WHEREAS, all proceeds for this production will be donated to the Puna Community
Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, Theater Arts Conservatory anticipates it will need $12,775 to cover
production costs, including the rentals of the Akebono, Palace and Kahilu Theatres, royalties,
material rentals, sound equipment and publicity; and
WHEREAS, rehearsals will begin in November and, from that time until closing night in
late January, Puna youth will receive performing arts training and education in an after school
setting and an all-day program during winter break; and
WHEREAS, everyone involved with the production will be youth under the age of
twenty, including cast, crew, musicians and creative team (director, musical director and
choreographer); and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for the Theater Arts Conservatory toward the production
of "Rent"; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
