As you are aware, I have been participating with others in the County of Hawaii's After-Hour Pool Use Pilot Program. The Department of Parks and Recreation staff have spent many hours conceptualizing how this program will function throughout the County. We have had five (5) different work meetings and work sessions thus far and numerous telephone conversations to attempt to set the program up in a workable fashion for the better and increased utilization of our County of Hawaii swimming pool facilities. The Parks and Recreation staff have done a very thorough job working on this. My personal experience in swimming at the Laupahoehoe pool has been very enjoyable. I usually go into the pool facility at about 5:00 a.m. in the morning and I swim for about thirty (30) to forty (40) minutes. I believe this program will be very popular throughout the island for working people and others who just can't get to the pool during normal hours throughout the day. It's my understanding that the County of Hawaii Parks and Recreation Department plans to hold a public hearing in a month or so to get further public input regarding the proposed rules for the After-Hour Pool Use Program. This will give a wide opportunity to the numerous pool users throughout the island to provide input on the specific plan After-Hour Pool Use rules that are presently in draft form. "M. /0 ~ 9 m. tiO. If I can be of any assistance on this matter, please let me know. Once again, thank you for your help. Sincerely, STANLEY . ROEHRIG SHR:jmsl
