3.10.5 USE OF SWIMMING POOLS
POLICY
County-owned swimming pools may be used by the
public according to the standards set forth by the
County.

County Council PURPOSE
To insure maximum use of County-owned swimming pools
by the community.
PROCEDURE AND GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTATION
1. For use by private organizations, the proper
application form shall be submitted to the
Department of Parks and Recreation for approval.
2. Upon approval, the use of the pool shall be
scheduled.
3. The indemnity provision covered in the "Rules
and Regulations of the Civic Hilo Auditorium
(Atagust 8, 1965) shall also apply for the utili-
zation of swimming pools by the public:
"The Lessee, Rentee, Licensee, Permittee or
Applicant shall at all times use due care for
public safety and shall indemnify and hold the
County of Hawaii harmless from all claims and
demands for property damage, personal injury or
wrongful death arising out of or in connection
witfi the use of the public facilities or equipment
by the Lessee, Rentee, Licensee, Permittee
or Applicant, his employees, agents or contractors."
4. County pools shall be opened only when operated
by approved county personnel. This includes use
after normal recreational swimming hours, such
as for parties, swim team training, etc. Any
exception to this policy is contrary to existing
ordinance ~j-and is ille&r.
5. Private splash parties, swim team training, etc.
must adhere to all posted pool rules, instructions
