Re: Capital Budget
Due to unforeseen roadway conditions and existing obstructions of
underground utilities, the Mamalahoa Highway Improvements (Kamamalu
Street to Lindsey Road), a federally- funded project, has been revised by
$400,000.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to increase the amount of the project by
$400,000.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of
blic Works.

A. REQUEST:
Amendment to Ordinance No. 98-27 (copy attached) to revise the cost
for the Mamalahoa Highway Improvements (Kamamalu Street to Lindsey
Road) project. This request is to cover the Federal funded portion,
which will be reimbursed. Increase cost from $5,200,000.00 to
$5,600,000.00.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
This is a federally funded project. Revised cost is based on an
increase in construction costs due to unforseen roadway conditions
and existing obstructions of underground utilities. Matching County
funds for this project are already available.
