A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow is an opportunity for thousands of
families and island visitors to gather for a family oriented, drug and alcohol free venue sharing
and celebrating Native American culture; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow is unique in that it incorporates Hawaiian
traditions with the Native American traditions, showing attendees the parallels and historic
connections between the two cultures; and
WHEREAS, plans are underway for the 4`h Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow, which
will take place May 23-25, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development towards The Big Island Resource Conservation
and Development Council, Inc. for the 4`h Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessazy transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
